While the Canyon Country campus may seem like a ghost town most days, when it comes to space, lots of spirits sure do come alive. The star party was a one-of-a-kind event that talks about expanding our understanding of explanatory systems from the ground up.
The science students were able to come out and show off their gadgets and awesome creations. And the event was not only free, but it was open to the public for all ages.
“I love any chance to come and talk to people about exoplanets in general about astronomy overall,” Jennifer Burt said. “I think it’s one of the more entertaining and more rewarding parts of the job that I has been a lot of time as a scientist focusing on data fighting with my laptop, but to get to inspire folks or get them excited about what we’re doing at NASA and in astronomy programs around the country is a pretty special thing.”
