College of the Canyons nearly pulled off the upset against 15th-ranked Cerritos Falcons in a high-scoring Homecoming battle.
The Cougars and Falcons traded blows score for score, but the game came down to a last-second field goal. COC missed its chance to take the lead, while Cerritos’ Jonathan Arreola drilled a 49-yard field goal in the final seconds to give the Falcons a 38-35 win.
COC falls to 0-5 and will be on a bye next week. They will face Fullerton on Thursday, October 8, at Cougar Stadium.
