Throughout April and May, your Canyons football team returns to Cougar Stadium for spring practices in preparation for the 2025 season.

“Spring is huge for us,” said Dan Corbet, Defensive Coordinator for the Cougars.

“We’re learning, learning our plays, learning the scheme, and then getting to put it into action and practice,” said Corbet.

“You want to be 100% better each and every day,” said Datavius Bledsoe, who plays linebacker for the Cougars.

“These guys out here, they work their butt off,” said Bledsoe.

Players and coaches look to build on a successful 8-3 season run that saw the benefits of a well-bonded team.

“If you have that connection and the closeness with your teammates, it just gives you the drive to work harder and let you build on each other,” said Jake Ramirez, a sophomore offensive lineman for the Cougars.

“We were close last year, but this team is even closer, and I really like it, and I’m really excited for this season,” said Jake Pikor, a freshman Defensive Lineman for the Cougars.

Players use this extra time on the field to hone their skills, hoping to start next season a step ahead of the competition.

“The D line is front line, I’ve got to figure out what gap I need to do. It’s not hard. I just got to do my job and then help my guys out,” said Pikor.

“Just hoping that we can hang another banner up. That’s the all time goal just hanging another banner up and just have a great year with these guys,” said Bledsoe.
