Here at Gilchrist Farms they are celebrating their yearly Harvest festival where
many attractions take place for all ages
“This event began in 2016, our very first one. And here we are
on a beautiful fall weekend kicking off our 8th event.” said Monica Chrchrist
But one attraction, in particular, is the tractor ride around the farm,
which is operated by none other than Farmer Sunny.
”When I first got the job, they say have you drove a tractor before
and I said no I haven’t drove a tractor, they say get on, they say press that button, hit
that lever, I was like scared to death. There’s something very special about watching a child go from scared, to happy. They go “Mom I don’t want to get off” Said Farmer Sunny
Many say, Farmer Sunny is an innocent soul and he shows that in
many ways while he is on the job, why, he even gives the animals their names
”Turns out there’s like 30 horses here, that’s a lot of horses, and a
lot of names. So I take it home and look at their names and go uh oh how am I gonna
put a face to it, especially a long face. So we have two cows at the top of the hill there, and whenever we are driving by them I go, oh hey there’s Daisy and there’s Dixy.” Said Farmer Sunny
