A home on Bar Harbor Court in Valencia has become a Halloween destination for local families. Bar Harbor Scares features animatronics, fog and a spooky walkthrough—all free to visitors.
Allen says the idea started when his daughter wanted to try a maze but felt too scared to visit someone else’s haunt. The two decided to create their own: spooky, but not too frightening.
For some children, the walkthrough is their first experience with a home haunt. Visitors say it’s a fun family outing, and praise the decorations, including a spider and a surprise reaper near the end.
Allen and his family spend months planning and setting up the display. They keep it free as a way to bring the community together.
