The Valencia campus and the Canyon Country campus hold many classes for students however Canyon Country is the only campus in COC that is offering science classes which is a problem for many students and teachers.

Teresa Ciardy is a science profess or in the Canyon Country campus. She talks about
her own experience about the delay of science classes in COC, especially in Valencia, and how it’s even affecting her.

Teresa: I was teaching on this campus on Monday, Wednesday, and then I had to be at the other campus to chair a committee meeting. And that 10 minutes to get from one campus to the other ,I was always late. With the travel from Canyon Country all the way to Valencia ,not only is it affecting teachers and students, but it’s also affecting new teachers and new employees coming into the science department. To hire a new part-time instructor, it’s a deal-breaker if it’s at the Canyon Country campus as opposed to the Valencia campus.

As a tip to any person in need of a science course, I would say try to arrange your schedule so that you’re at one campus in the morning and then maybe you have like an hour break, so you have time to drive and may eat something. And then be at the other campus in the afternoon.
