The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley hosted their 21st annual Festival of Trees auction, an event that gives Christmas season a spark and helps the community

“Festival of Trees is our annual fundraiser supporting the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Clarita Valley, it’s our 21st year and what it is, is we have a big gala, which is happening right now, it’s called the Magic of the Lights Gala,” explained CEO of the Boys and Girls Club Santa Clarita, Matt Nelson. “We have a live auction of big trees that are packaged with items and then we have a silent auction going on over the next few days.”

This is a look here at this year’s Festival of Trees event where items like gingerbread houses and Christmas trees will be auctioned off. All proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club in the Santa Clarita Valley. Guests will also have the opportunity to look at the items before bidding on them, while sitting down and enjoying a meal

Guests who attended helped kick off the Christmas season spirit but while doing so, they were also making a difference in the lives of the kids in the Boys and Girls Club.

“It’s how we’re able to fund our programs here which provide local after school programs to kids who need it the most. We have snacks, arts, recreation, academic support, and leadership, all kinds of stuff year round,” Said Nelson.

As for others they were there to enjoy the festive event with family and friends.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year. I love the holidays, I love Christmas, and all the trees and decorations.” Said Santa Clarita Communications Manager Carrie Lujan. “Getting to come out and see our beautiful community center wrapped up in all the red and green sparkling lights of the holiday season is amazing.”
